Bali foreign tourist arrivals in August 2017 totaled 592,767 – a 35.52% increase over the 438,135 foreign tourists who arrived in August 2016. Foreign arrivals January – August 2017 hit 3,997,102 – a figure that was year-to-date 18.89% more than the first 8 months of 2016.
Mainland Chinese tourists remain the largest source of inbound foreign visitors to Bali representing a 26.23% market share of all foreign arrivals for January-August. Chinese visitors passed the one million mark for the year at the end of August, achieving 1,048,270. Compared to the same period one year before, Mainland Chinese tourists have increased 58.48% year to day at the end of August.
Australian tourist rank second in terms of Bali foreign tourist arrivals with an 18.58% market share. In 2017 for January-August, 742,575 Australians visited Bali, improving a scant 0.08% over 2016.
Indian tourist now rank #3 among all foreign arrivals to Bali with 175,184 Indian tourists coming to Bali in January-August 2017. Indian tourists are booming, increasing 48.59% during the first eight months of 2017 and now representing a 4.38% markets share of foreign visitors to Bali.
Following closely in 4th place are Japanese tourists. 172,240 Japanese holiday makers came to Bali January-August 2017, improving 12.06% from 2016.
Year-to-date, double digit improvements in arrivals January to August to Bali were recorded by the British (16.01%), USA (21.38%), South Korean (27.41%), German (20.71%), Russian (62.16%), Canadian (29.72%), Philippines (26.91%), Italian (23.78%), Spanish (22.97%), and Switzerland (13.75%).
